This is a little piece of heaven in a bowl.
I made this for Mother's Day....yep I cooked something on Mother's Day. Like I said before...Brooks and the kids spoiled me...breakfast in bed...Brooks got the kids all ready for church...I just got to be lazy. It was lovely. But I wanted to cook something for my family to enjoy. This was so easy, and took no time at all. It looked wonderful...and tasted even better! Thanks Brooke for an awesome recipe.
Ingredients:
2 8 ounce packages cream cheese, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla
Mix together cream cheese, powdered sugar, sour cream and vanilla.
1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Whip heavy cream, sugar and vanilla. Then fold into the cream cheese mixture.
2 prepackaged Angel Food Cake, cubed
2 package raspberry Danish Dessert
3 cups water
2 package frozen raspberries
Bring water and Danish Dessert to a boil. Stir constantly. Remove from heat and add frozen raspberries. In trifle bowl, begin to layer. Start with raspberry layer, then add cream cheese mixture, then angel food cake, and repeat. Be sure to end with raspberry layer. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Beautiful dessert
Bookmarked!! That looks amazing!!!!
What a perfect dessert for Mother's Day. I hope I can find Danish Dessert. Joni
You guys are going to make me gain tons more weight than my prego body should! I NEED this now! I think I know what we are having for dessert for my sis-in-laws shower now!
When you say raspberry danish dessert, do you mean like entemans? Or something else?
I actually don't know what entemans is:)
The brand is danish dessert. It is over by the jello and pudding!
and....drooling...
I am not sure what the Raspberry Danish dessert is. Is it a box mix or something already made up?
It is a box mix by the pudding and jello mixes.
I didn't find Raspberry Danish Dessert. What can I substitute for this?
I didn't find the Raspberry Danish Dessert or anything close to it. What can I substitute for this?
I have been trying to google if there is some sort of substitute and can't find any. It is similar to a jello...but thicker. So you could try that. Did you find any danish dessert boxes? You could just use strawberry.
I am sorry...I wish I had a solution for you.
I bought the Raspberry Jello. Will this work?
I bought the Raspberry Jello. Will this work?
I am sure you can use jello. It won't have the same thickness but it should work. Just refrigerate the jello with the berries for about 30 minutes, until it starts to solidify a little bit.
The raspberry jello worked great! I used two large pkgs of raspberry jello with the 3 cups of water you said to use. I didn't refrigerate the jello with the berries. I put some of the angel food cake in the bottom and poured the liquid jello and berry mixture on top and this seemed to work well. It soaked into each layer of cake. After I let it chill in the frig for 2 hours it set up very well. Thanks for the recipe! Everyone loved it and wants me to make more!
Oh I am so glad it worked for you!
So glad someone else figured out how to do this without the Danish Dessert. I was also wondering if it was like Entenmann's ha ha ha (that is a prepackaged danish pastry with a raspberry filling...and I'm thinking that boiling that would be a disgusting mess lol). Sounds like Danish Dessert is a gel fruit filling, similar to a canned cherry pie filling. Thanks for posting!
