Texas Sheet Cake

I just love my Grandma. She is one of the most amazing women I have ever met. Growing up we would spend Saturday's going to the mall with her and going to Chickfila or Hot Dog on a Stick. I always looked forward to shopping with her...maybe it was because she always bought me something:) Unfortunately for Brooks, I have a love for shopping now, because of my Grandma!  Texas Sheet Cake is one that she always brings to all the family get togethers. We have a large family. She had 7 kids...and (I think) 30 grandkids (plus all their spouses)...and I can't even think of how many great grandkids! So we need a dessert that serves a lot of people!
You will love this one!

Ingredients:

Cake:
1 cup butter
1 cup water
4 tablespoons cocoa
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon baking soda

Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
4 tablespoons cocoa
6 tablespoons milk
1 pound powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

In sauce pan, melt butter and then whisk in water and cocoa. Once well incorporated pour into mixing bowl. Add sugar, flour and salt. Mix well. Then beat in eggs, sour cream and baking soda. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
For the frosting, in a sauce pan melt butter. Add  cocoa and milk, bring to a boil. Then remove from heat and add vanilla and powdered sugar. Frost over warm cake.
