Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Brownies

I am kinda obsessed with pumpkin treats. I think it drives Brooks crazy...but I love it. You might all go crazy too, because I have found a bunch of new pumpkin recipes that I am dying to try.
This recipe I found while browsing Pinterest. I knew I shouldn't have started using that site. It is so addicting. But it is the perfect place to save all your favorite things that you find on the web, without clogging up your "favorites." Anyway, I made these for Sunday dessert...and they were a huge hit. I can't decide if they are more like a brownie, cake, muffin, bread...or what really! But they sure are good!

Source: Pennies on a Platter
Ingredients:

1/2 cup pumpkin puree
2 whole eggs
1 egg white
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup semi sweet mini chocolate chips

Combine pumpkin, eggs and vegetable oil. Mix well. In separate bowl mix together dry ingredients. Then combine wet and dry. Add chocolate chips. Spread onto a greased 11x7 (or 9x9 pan which is what I used). Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Enjoy!

This sounds good and I know Bill would love them but I'm kind of with your hubby on the pumpkin thing. I'll have to try the recipe. Isn't Pinterest the best!

do you know what is in allspice, or have alternatives to using it? I own everything else but the allspice and would rather not make a special trip to the store right now. These sound SO good!

Hi Anna, If you don't have allspice, just use more cinnamon! Or just do a 1/4 teaspoon more of the cinnamon, and a 1/4 teaspoon more of nutmeg.
